About

Assad Abboud is an architect and photographer currently living in Williamsburg, Virginia.

He currently manages projects with the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation’s Architecture & Engineering Department. Prior to his current position, he worked at R2L Architects, managing the design and production of a 327-unit multifamily residential building in Charlotte, NC. Assad has prior experience in hospitality, office buildings, primary and higher education, urban design, multifamily residential, and mixed-use projects.

Assad was born and raised in Amman, Jordan, before moving stateside to attend school at the University of Virginia, where he received his bachelors degree in 2011. In 2018, he received his Masters Degree in Architecture from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute’s Washington-Alexandria Architecture Consortium, while continuing to work part-time at Cooper Carry.

In 2016, Assad and his wife Hillary also started a photography and videography business, focusing on shooting weddings and family sessions. Some of their work can be found at www.theabbouds.com
